New Elimination & Team Elimination Formats

Squabbit now supports single-elimination brackets for both individual and team play in tournaments and leagues. Whether you're running a club championship or a team knockout event, the new elimination formats make it easy to set up, track, and visualize bracket-style competition.

Individual Elimination

The individual elimination format pits players against each other in head-to-head matchplay. Winners advance to the next round until a single champion remains. When creating a tournament, simply select "Elimination" as the format to get started.

Interactive Bracket View

Instead of a traditional leaderboard, elimination tournaments feature an interactive bracket view. You can zoom in and out and pan around to see every match across all rounds. Tap on any match to view the detailed scorecard or create tee times.

Matches are automatically generated as players advance through the bracket. If there's an odd number of players, byes are handled automatically so no one gets left out.

Team Elimination

Team elimination brings the same bracket-style knockout to team play. Entire teams face off each round, with the winning team advancing together. It supports all of Squabbit's team game types including Best Ball, Scramble, Alternate Shot, Shamble, and many more.

Tie-Breaking

In elimination, every match needs a winner. When a match ends all square, Squabbit can automatically apply a tie-break method to determine who advances. Choose from several options including countback, back-from-18, forward-from-1, or lowest handicap.

Elimination Leagues

Elimination also works as a league format. Each event in the league represents one round of the bracket, so you can spread your knockout competition across multiple weeks. This is available for both individual and team leagues, making it perfect for season-long bracket events at your club.

Flights Support

If your tournament or league uses flights, each flight gets its own independent bracket. This means you can run multiple elimination brackets within a single event, with separate advancement and winners per flight.
